The awarding winning Unicoi County Apple Festival will return for its 42nd annual run Friday and Saturday, Oct. 4 and 5, in downtown Erwin.
ERWIN - The Erwin Board of Mayor and Aldermen on Monday called for a post Apple Festival meeting for police, fire and public works departments to discuss safety issues at this year's festival and downtown merchants' appeal for revisions of the festival’s vendor booth placement policies.
Friday’s summer like weather made for what may go down as the most successful opening days in the 41-year history of the Unicoi County Apple Festival.
The show and sale will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Saturday at Love Chapel Elementary School located at 600 S. Mohawk Drive in Erwin.
The 41st year of the Unicoi County Apple Festival will take place October 5-6 from 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. in downtown Erwin, Tennessee.
“The festival is certainly a time of homecoming and reunionfor unicoi County and most of the residents here areso proud o fthis festival for any event to withstand 40 years i9s ceertainly a milestone,” said Amanda Delp, director of the Unicoi County Chamber of Commerce.
