Happy Tails foot race will raise funds for new spay and neuter clinic at the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter.

ELIZABETHTON — The Happy Tails 5K run and 1K walk will take place Sunday at 2 p.m. in downtown Elizabethton, starting at the Covered Bridge Park. Last year there were 184 participants. The race is dog and stroller friendly.

The event is put on by the Friends of the Elizabethton/Carter County Animal Shelter. Proceeds will go to raising money to build a spay and neuter clinic adjacent to the shelter.
