Four residents at a Bristol, Tennessee, nursing home are hospitalized with the novel coronavirus, while two others who tested positive are in isolation.
The new positive tests come after an employee at Christian Care Center of Bristol tested positive for COVID-19 on June 25. On Monday, it was announced that four residents had tested positive and two had been hospitalized, though those numbers increased on Tuesday.
An additional employee has also tested positive, the center said in a statement.
“Under the guidance of the facility’s Medical Director, Dr. Vivian Clark, Christian Care Center of Bristol, a CMS 5-Star rated, and Joint Commission accredited facility is working closely with the Sullivan County Department of Health and is following strict Joint Commission, Department of Health, and CDC precautions and guidelines,” a statement from the facility said. “We remain vigilant against this wicked virus afflicting our nation and local community.
“We covet your prayers and support as we all face this worldwide pandemic.”
No other residents or staff have tested positive, but they will continue to be tested.
