BUTLER — Three people were reported injured in a two-vehicle crash on Tenn. Highway 167 (Roan Creek Road) at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The accident was investigated by the Tennessee Highway Patrol. According to the accident report, a 2000 Chevrolet Blazer driven by Thomas E. Brewer, 44, Butler, was traveling northbound on the highway and crossed over the center line in front of a southbound 1988 Chevrolet pickup truck driven by Wayne Clyde Cook Jr., 59, Butler. A passenger in the truck was Ricky W. Farmer, 48, Butler.

Investigators said Cook attempted to avoid a collision with the Blazer by going into the other lane, but was unsuccessful. The Blazer sideswiped the truck, causing severe damage. Cook and Farmer were transported to Johnson City Medical Center. Brewer was transported to Watauga County Medical Center.
