A manhunt was underway Friday for a man who eluded a chase in Washington County after a carjacking in Greeneville, Washington County Sheriff Ed Graybeal said in a news release.

Tyler James Rogers, 26, eluded deputies Thursday afternoon after he was spotted driving on Rowe Road in Washington County driving a gold Hyundai Elantra. Rogers fled in the car as deputies attempted a traffic stop and later crashed on Cherokee Road. He then ran into some woods.
