“Right now it does not appear to be a homicide” Sheriff Dexter Lunceford said. He said no wounds or marks were found on the body in the preliminary examination by his investigators.
Lunceford said the body would be taken to East Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City for an autopsy.
Lunceford said he had few details about the man, whose body was found in a briar thicket in the woods.
“We will have more information on Wednesday. We are still in the preliminary stage,” the sheriff said.
