A Jonesborough teenager was arrested Sunday after trying to outrun Washington County deputies and nearly striking a construction worker last week.

Dylan Carder, 19, no address given, was charged with violation of probation, evading arrest by motor vehicle, driving on a suspended license, reckless endangerment, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Deputies saw Carder on Dec. 12 driving a truck on Bill West Drive. They knew he was wanted for violation of probation and tried to stop him, but after Carder nearly hit a construction worker, the deputies ended the pursuit.

Both Carder and the juvenile surrendered to officers without incident.

Carder was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on the two existing warrants, as well as warrants obtained regarding the incident on Dec. 12.

He was being held at the Detention Center on a $47,000 bond The juvenile was turned over to the Department of Children’s Services.
