Police said a Greeneville woman had a gun and drugs in her car when they checked on her in a Johnson City Walmart parking lot early Friday morning.

They approached Jennifer Skwarka, 31, after being called to the Walmart at 3111 Browns Mill Road about a suspicious vehicle. Police said the gun was in plain view in the car, and they told Skwarka to step out of the car. She did, but tried several times to reach back into the car. Skwarka then tried to run from the police and resisted their efforts to take her into custody.

In a search of the car, police confiscated the gun, as well as various drugs including methamphetamine.

Skwarka was charged with possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony, resisting stop/arrest, felony possession of methamphetamine, simple possession of schedule II, III and IV drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center awaiting a Sessions Court appearance set for later Friday.
