Aggravated assault, criminal simulation charges reported by Johnson City police

Recent felony arrests reported by Johnson City police:

Domestic assault charge: A Johnson City man was charged with domestic aggravated assault on Tuesday after JCPD responded to a domestic violence complaint. According to police, 20-year-old Gerson Eduardo Espinoza, 115 W. Locus St., assaulted his girlfriend earlier on Tuesday, and she advised police she had previously been choked on two separate occasions. Espinoza was held at the Washington County Detention Center under $20,000 bond. Arraignment was set for Wednesday in Sessions Court.

Counterfeit bills: Johnson City Police responded to a call about a woman attempting to pass counterfeit $20 bills at a Dollar General, 1121 N. Roan Street, which led to an arrest. Kaitlyn Anderson, 26, 114 E. Chilhowie Ave., was arrested on Tuesday and charged with criminal simulation. Police found additional counterfeit bills in her purse after she consented to a search. Anderson was held in the Washington County Detention Center under $10,000 bond. Arraignment was set for Wednesday in Sessions Court.
