The three-vehicle crash on Tenn. Highway 394 was reported just before 9 a.m. Police did not include the names of the drivers involved in a news release.
Bristol police said a vehicle was traveling west on Tenn. 394 and crossed the paved median. It struck another vehicle traveling east on Tenn. 394 head on. The initial collision caused the second vehicle to spin around and hit a third vehicle, which also was eastbound.
The second vehicle’s driver had to be extricated and was flown to Johnson City Medical Center by Ballad One.
Police said the investigation was continuing.
