Officers found a man walking from the scene of a residential burglary while wearing a karate uniform just stolen from a basement Tuesday, Johnson City police said in a news release.

Tyler J. Kotlarsz, 35, 429 Lamont St., was charged with aggravated burglary.

The resident at 1002 Katies Way reported that a man had broken into his basement and had stolen his golf cart and a karate uniform. Police said Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the stolen golf cart nearby on South Pickens Bridge Road.
