BRISTOL — Neither driver was seriously injured late Thursday night when a Bristol Police Department cruiser collided with another vehicle downtown.

In a news release, police said the officer, whom they did not identify, was driving south on 7th Street around midnight when the cruiser collided with a vehicle traveling east on Broad Street. The collision spun the cruiser almost 180 degrees.

Because the crash involved a city vehicle, the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office was asked to handle the investigation.
