The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help to find a man with a distinctive tattoo they say was involved in a car burglary.

According to a press release from Sheriff Ed Graybeal’s office Friday, someone broke into a car near Pleasant Valley Drive in Johnson City and stole a wallet during the early morning of April 1.

The wallet contained credit and debit cards that a man later attempted to use at several locations, including gas stations and ATMs. Security footage at the gas station showed a man with a distinctive tattoo on the right side of his neck using the stolen bank card, the press release stated.

Anyone who knows the man’s identity is asked to call the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 423-788-1414. Callers can remain anonymous. The sheriff also encourages residents to always keep their vehicles locked and remove valuable items.
