The passenger of a car involved in a traffic stop Saturday in the city was charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, Johnson City police said in news release.

Samantha Shipley, 41, 1116 Edgewood St., Johnson City, was in a car where the driver had a misdemeanor amount of meth.

A further search of the vehicle revealed Shipley was in possession of a felony amount of meth — the exact amount wasn’t listed in the news report — along with drug paraphernalia consistent with the sale of narcotics. Shipley was also found to be in possession of misdemeanor amounts of marijuana and pills.

She is being held at the Washington County Detention Center in lieu of $11,000 bond and is due to appear for her arraignment at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Washington County Sessions Court.
