Reward offered after 85-year-old assaulted in Johnson City home invasion

The Johnson City Police Department is asking for help from the public to locate a man suspected of breaking into a home and assaulting another man.

According to a news release, police were investigating a home invasion that reportedly took place March 11 around 6 p.m. in which an 85-year-old man was attacked and stabbed in a home on the 2500 block of Louise Street.

The assailant was described by a witness as a white man between 30 and 50 years old wearing a dark toboggan, coat and pants. He was also reported to have a mustache at the time but it is currently unknown if he has one now. Police say he was last seen walking south in the 2500 block of Louise Street carrying a black trash bag that looked full.

A reward has been offered for the any information that leads to an arrest or conviction.
