Jonesborough man picks up drug charges after speeding stop

A Jonesborough man picked up several drug charges after a Friday afternoon traffic stop for speeding, the Johnson City Police Department said in a news release.

Police said:

• Thomas David Snyder III, 28, 305 Bulldog Miller Road, was charged with possession of schedule I, IV and VI drugs, possession of a schedule II drug for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.

• After receiving permission to search the car, officers found approximately 30 grams of a crystal rock substance believed to be methamphetamine, a “small amount” of LSD (no exact amount was given), “several baggies” of marijuana (no exact amount was given), a blue pill identified as alprazolam (generic of Xanax) and glass pipes and scales.

• Snyder admitted to possession of the items, and he was trying to sell the items. He was arrested and transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held under $14,000 bond with an arraignment in Washington County Sessions Court on Monday at 1:30 p.m.
