Sullivan County sheriff’s deputies were looking for a man Monday who reportedly robbed a bank in Blountville.

Officers were dispatched to BB&T Bank around 2:46 p.m.

Witnesses told officers that a man entered the bank alone and presented a note to a teller, but did not show a weapon.

The man was described as having partly balding black hair, a black beard, and he was wearing sunglasses, khaki-colored pants, a black shirt, and an olive-green jacket similar to a rain jacket.

The man left on foot and numerous officers surrounded the area in an attempt to locate him, but he was not located.

The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office is investigating and the FBI was contacted and responded as well. Anyone with information about the robbery, or if anyone recognizes the man in the photo, call 911 or the sheriff’s office at 423-279-7330.
