More than two weeks after a man reportedly fled an early morning traffic stop, Johnson City police arrested him on Monday, police said Thursday in a news release.

About 2 a.m. July 14, an officer saw a gray Toyota Camry pass through a red light at the intersection of North State of Franklin Road and South Greenwood Drive. Police said the officer caught up to the vehicle and the driver lost control of the car, which struck a guardrail. The officer tried to stop the Camry, but the driver sped away.

The investigation led police to arrest Robert A, Bowers, 42, 704 Clamar St. He was charged with felony evading arrest, reckless driving and fourth offense driving on a revoked license.

He was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond and was set to appear Wednesday in Sessions Court.
