A Johnson City man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting and robbing a woman, police said in a news release.

When police responded to a call about a possible domestic disturbance at 207 Edna Court, police spoke with the woman and determined that a strong-arm robbery had taken place.

Marcus McCullough, 28, 402 Roger Lane, was seen by witnesses pushing the woman to the ground and then kicking and punching her, police said. McCullough reportedly stole a cell phone, money and a pack of cigarettes totaling about $300 before fleeing to a nearby housing complex.

After finding him, police arrested McCullough and charged him with strong-arm robbery. He was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond and set to appear Thursday in Sessions Court.
