Twin Jonesborough brothers both were arrested Sunday on sexually related charges. One of the two was charged with raping a child.

In a news release, Sheriff Ed Graybeal reported that 27-year-old Landon and Brandon Honeycutt, both of 1519 Tenn. Highway 81 N., had been charged on grand jury presentments.

The victim, according to court documents, was a 12-year-old female.

Landon Honeycutt was charged with four counts of aggravated sexual battery. He was held at the Washington County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.

Brandon Honeycutt was charged with two counts of aggravated sexual battery and two counts of rape of a child. He was held at the WCDC on $75,000 bond.

Landon Honeycutt was arrested at the twins’ residence, and Brandon Honeycutt was charged at the WCDC a short time later.

Because the charging instrument was a presentment — which is a secret indictment issued by a grand jury — there were few details about how the brothers came in contact with the pre-teen girl.

The presentments did indicate that the alleged abuse by Brandon Honeycutt began in January 2016 and continued until April 2018. The abuse by Landon Honeycutt started as early as October 2016 when the girl was just 9 years old.

Both men will appear in Washington County Criminal Court Sept. 10 for arraignment.
