Carter County deputies went to a Bristol Highway residence because they suspected Toby Jay McRath, 41, might be there.
After receiving confirmation he was inside, the officers began searching and reported finding McRath hiding under a bed. He was taken into custody.
During the initial search, officers said they noticed several items of drug paraphernalia in the bedroom of Andrew Eugene Coefer, 37.
After arresting McRath, the officers said they found several types of drugs, including methamphetamine and LSD, in Coefer’s bathroom. The officers also discovered a .9 mm Ruger pistol and a Phoenix Arms .22-caliber pistol.
Coefer was charged with one count of possession of a schedule I drug, two counts of possession of a schedule II drug, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, possession of drug paraphernalia and maintaining a dwelling to distribute a controlled substance.
Coefer appeared in Sessions Court on Monday. Judge Keith Bowers Jr. ordered him to be back in court Aug. 27 with his attorney.
