Kingsport man accused of passing fake check in Johnson City

A Kingsport man was arrested Tuesday after he tried to pass a fake check at a Johnson City bank, police said in a news release.

Michael Gosnell, 39, 928 Kendrick Creek Road, was charged with criminal simulation.

Police were called to the Bank of Tennessee branch at 112 E. Mountcastle Drive, where employees reported that a man was trying to cash the check.

Gosnell was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond awaiting a Sessions Court appearance for Wednesday.
