The call was made about 5 a.m. and officers responded to East Highland Road. When they arrived, they made contact with the person described by the caller, who turned out to be Malcolm Hopson, 20, 158 E. Highland Road, according to a release from the Johnson City Police Department.
Police said that during their investigation, multiple vehicles in the area were found to have been entered. Several of the vehicles’ owners were located and interviewed and a large amount of property was recovered at the scene.
Hopson was transported to the Washington County Detention Center, where he was held on $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in Washington County General Sessions Court.
