Police said an argument over a man’s girlfriend turned into a bloody assault.

On Thursday, officers arrested Donald Miller, 57, 811 Wilson Ave., and charged him with aggravated assault. Police responded to a welfare check to find a man who had been badly beaten, a news release said, and the man told police that Miller assaulted him.

According to the release, Miller was inside the residence covered in blood and “extremely intoxicated.” The release said the two had been in a heated argument over Miller’s girlfriend before the argument turned physical.

Miller is jailed at the Washington County Detention Center on $20,000 bond. He will be arraigned Friday morning.
