Boat crash injures four on Douglas Lake

Four people were injured when a boat ran aground on Douglas Lake Sunday night, according to a Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency news release. 

TWRA officers arrived to the scene of the accident and discovered that the boat, a 2011 Mastercraft operated by Brandon Watson, 21, had struck one of the small islands near the TVA Big Island.

Witnesses reported hearing the crash and found four people had been on board. One had been ejected from the boat.

The driver was injured, along with Blake Dutton, 21, Knoxville, Emily Yow, 21, White Pine, and Taylor Creech, 19, Dandridge. All were taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center. Creech was airlifted with serious injuries. All were reportedly in stable condition.

According to TWRA, Watson had passed the TWRA boating safety course. 

Investigators pulled evidence from the boat, and the TWRA continued to investigate.
