Johnson City man arrested on drug charges as part of drug investigation into local hotel

An investigation into suspicious activity at a local hotel led to an arrest Friday evening, according to Johnson City police. 

Joshua McKinley Williams, 35, 3406 W. Market St., was arrested Friday night as a result of an investigation into possible drug activity at a local hotel, according to a news release from the police department.

Police said Williams gave police permission to search his room, where officers found methamphetamine that had been "divided into several small baggies," along with several items of drug paraphernalia.

Williams was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell, maintaining a dwelling where a controlled substance is sold and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Williams was taken to the Washington County Detention Center and held on $21,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for June 11 in Sessions Court.
