Johnson City police charge man with weapon, drug violations

Following reports of methamphetamine dealing at a Johnson City motel, a city man was charged Tuesday with weapon and drug violations.

Jonathan Reynolds, 25, was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, maintaining a dwelling where narcotics are sold, simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to a release from the Johnson City Police Department.

According to police reports, officers arrived at the Econolodge, 207 E. Mountcastle Drive, after receiving information about the sale of methamphetamine. While investigating the claims, officers said they met Reynolds and found he was in possession of a firearm, meth and drug paraphernalia.

Reynolds was transported to the Washington County Detention Center where he held on $26,000 bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned on Wednesday in Sessions Court.
