Police arrested a man accused of breaking into a vehicle Friday.

Kevin Hendrix, 2822 W. Walnut St., was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and driving on canceled license/multiple.

About 10:30 a.m., police went to Johnson City Medical Center looking into reports of a man who was pulling on door handles of vehicles in the parking lot.

Police were told the man was possibly the same person who had been asking for money around the city Thursday and was possibly driving on a suspended license. Police stopped Hendrix in his vehicle and confirmed his license status.

Police said they found a blue pipe belonging to Hendrix in a woman’s vehicle. The woman reported that $950 worth of property was stolen from her vehicle. Hendrix was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $11,000 bond awaiting a Sessions Court appearance set for Monday.
