Police: Altered license plate led to meth arrest in Johnson City

An altered license plate led to the discovery of methamphetamine in a vehicle parked on a Johnson City street Thursday, resulting in a man’s arrest, police said in a new release.

Calvin D. Honeycutt II was charged with altering, falsifying or forging auto titles or assignment of plates, possession of methamphetamine and unlawful drug paraphernalia.

Police said they were investigating the altered plate when they learned Honeycutt had a warrant out for his arrest. They searched the vehicle and found drug paraphernalia and a small amount meth.

Honeycutt was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond awaiting a Sessions Court appearance set for Friday.
