A traffic stop became more serious for a woman in Jonesborough Sunday after a K-9 unit led police to methamphetamine and other illegal items that were reportedly in her vehicle.

According to a news release from the Johnson City Police Department, 20-year-old Cassie N. Williams of Jonesborough was arrested Sunday and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine for resale, unlawful drug paraphernalia, possession of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony and a headlight law violation.

Police said officers stopped a car traveling without its headlights on and during the traffic they discovered Williams had a history of drug charges and was armed with a handgun. A Washington County K-9 unit was called and reportedly led police to "methamphetamine, a large amount of cash and drug paraphernalia," in the vehicle.

Williams was transported to the Washington County Detention Center and held on $21,000 bond. Her arraignment is set for Monday in Sessions Court.
