A woman accused of shoplifting at Walmart gave officers another person’s driver’s license as she was arrested Monday, resulting in an identity theft charge, Johnson City police said.

Police were called to Walmart, 3111 Browns Mill Road, about 7:30 p.m. where Ashley K. Shockley, 35, 3612 Waters St., had been detained by employees.

Police said Shockley identified herself as another person and provided that person’s Tennessee driver’s license.

She was charged with identity theft, theft of property under $1,000 and shoplifting under $1,000. She was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $12,000 bond with a Sessions Court appearance set for Tuesday.
