A Johnson City man was arrested Friday after an alleged incident with a handgun and a cell phone.

Johnson City police said Saturday in a news release that Anthony J. Weeks, 30, was charged with aggravated assault after receiving a report about shots being fired at 122 Wilson Ave.

According to the release, a man told officers who responded that he was in his car when Weeks “came outside and started hitting him.” The man also told police Weeks grabbed the phone from his hand and threw it as he was calling 911. Weeks then returned to his apartment to retrieve a pistol. The man told police Weeks fired shots at him.

The victim was uninjured, but police said they found a ricochet mark where a bullet possibly struck the asphalt where the victim had been standing.

Weeks was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center and was held under $50,000 bond. His arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.
