Johnson City man charged with hitting girlfriend with blunt object

A Johnson City man was charged with aggravated assault Wednesday after police responded to a domestic disturbance at the Johnson Inn.

When police arrived at the motel, they learned William Presley, 44, 2700 W. Market St., had struck his girlfriend with a blunt object, police said in a news release. She had a cut on the back of her head and was sent to Johnson City Medical Center for treatment, according to the news release.

Presley was held in the Washington County Detention Center on $20,000 bond. He was arraigned in Sessions Court Wednesday.
