Man crashes head on into Carter County school bus

ELIZABETHTON — A man who was arrested Wednesday on charges of crashing head on into a school bus was arraigned in Carter County Sessions Court on Thursday morning.

Danny Damon Blair, 58, 513 Candy Cane Lane, Johnson City, was arraigned on a first offense of driving under the influence, felony reckless endangerment with a motor vehicle, driving in the wrong lane and no proof on insurance.

Judge Keith bowers Jr. ordered Blair be report to court on Oct. 31 with his attorney.

Trooper W. Connors of the Tennessee Highway Patrol charged Blair with crashing into a special needs bus of the Carter County School System which had eight students and the driver aboard. The accident occurred at 4 p.m. on Dalewood Drive.

Connors reported that Blair was in the wrong lane at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported.
