Jonesborough man arrested after welfare check revealed charge from another state

A Jonesborough man was arrested on a full extradition warrant from another state after officers were dispatched for a welfare check.

According to a JCPD news release, police were called out for a welfare check near North Roan Street by Interstate 26, where they made contact with a man who could only identify himself by his social security number.

Officers ran a warrant check using the social security number and identified the man as David A. Ritter, 35, 755 Tavern Hill Road.

According to the release, Ritter was wanted out of Somerset County, Pa. for a violation of probation.

He was taken to Washington County Detention Center, where he was scheduled to be arraigned in Sessions Court today at 1:45 p.m.
