Two charged with trying to use bogus prescription at Johnson City pharmacy

A Virginia man and an Elizabethton woman were arrested Wednesday on charges they tried to pass fake prescriptions at a Johnson City pharmacy.

Daniel Fleming, 24, 8834 Clintwood Hwy., Pound Va., and Kyla Maria Jones, 23, 1224 ½ Broad St., Elizabethton, were each charged with attempting to obtain narcotics by fraud.

Police were called about 2 p.m. on June 27 to Blankenship Pharmacy, 222 E. Watauga Ave., where employees reported that Fleming and Jones had tried to pass a fraudulent prescription to receive narcotics, according to a news release.

Fleming and Jones were jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $10,000 bond each pending Sessions Court appearances today.
