Construction crews have begun work on the Farmers Market/Downtown Pavilion building on the plot of land between Founders Park and Wilson Avenue in downtown Johnson City.
According to City Public Works Director Phil Pindzola, the contractor — the Bristol, Virginia-based Trademark General Contractors — has targeted a completion date of July 31 for the approximately 20,000-square-foot structure, which has a projected budget of almost $2 million.
On Wednesday, crews began grading the site to prepare it for the building’s planned construction.
