Johnson City Police officers responded to a hold up alarm that happened at Capital Bank, 2710 S Roan St. at about 4:30 Tuesday afternoon.
According to the news release, employees described a white man, pictured, wearing dark pants, a blue t-shirt, white shoes, a black and white ball cap, has dark facial hair and appeared to be wearing glasses. The man entered the building and handed an employee a note demanding money, city police said. The man then left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Surveillance cameras inside the building captured images of the man.
The investigation is ongoing as officers continue their search for the man. Johnson City police were looking for a man who robbed a South Roan Street bank late this afternoon.
According to emergency radio communications, a man robbed the Capital Bank branch at 2710 S. Roan St., leaving with cash.
After leaving on foot, the man was seen carrying a tool box and heading south on South Roan toward Unicoi County, possibly into a nearby trailer park.
He was described as a white man in his 20s, 5 feet, 9 inches tall to 5 feet 11 inches tall. He was wearing a jeans, a blue shirt and a black jacket.
