Nineteen Johnson City firefighters responded to a massive fire at the old General Mills building around 9:20 p.m. Sunday. When firefighters arrived, the Sevier Street side of the building was on fire. From two ladder trucks, firefighters poured the water on as smoke billowed into the sky.
Hundres of onlookers gathered in parking lots around the building and at Founders Park to watch. Many onlookers speculated about what started the fire, but fire officials said it's too early to determine the cause.
