Heather Feuchtenberger scored one for the home team on the first day of the ETSU Track and Field Invitational.

The East Tennessee State junior from Elizabethton won the women’s 800 meter race at 2:17.75, nearly three seconds faster than runner-up Madison Paraskeva of Wofford. ETSU’s Genevieve Schwarz was fifth (2:22.25), while Milligan runners Erica Stone and Caitlin Dominey finished seventh and 10th, respectively.

Nich Teta of UNC-Asheville won the men’s 800 at 1:59.32. Milligan’s Matt Huff finished 15th at 2:06.65.

Other races contested were the 5,000 meters. Lila Peters of Appalachian State won the women’s race at 18:18, while ETSU’s Lindsay Bruce finished ninth at 19:19. Joel Barlow of Cumberland University won the men’s race at 15:43.

ETSU had four top-five finishes in the field events. Margaret Hayden went 53 feet in the women’s weight throw and teammate Jaden Finch had a 50-06.75 feet heave. Kolin Miller (51-10) was fifth in the men’s weight throw. Natalie Schumacher of Carson-Newman won the women’s high jump at 5-feet-6 and Patra Williams of ETSU finished second at 5-foot-3.
