Melissa Hurst and Mitchell Taylor Meredith were married Monday, Sept. 29,  2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Johnson City. 

Father Peter Iorio officiated the 3:30 p.m. exchange of vows.

The bride is a daughter of Jeff and Theresa Hurst, Blountville.

She is a granddaughter of the late Paul and Jean Hurst; and Ila Laney, Jonesborough, and the late Willie Laney.

The groom is a son of Mitch and Nancy Naylor Meredith, Johnson City.

He is a grandson of Martha Nan Garland Meredith, Johnson City, and the late J.H. “Bill” Meredith; and Elizabeth Ann Stagmaier Naylor, Chattanooga, and the late Kenneth Allan Naylor.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore a strapless ivory gown of crinkle chiffon featuring soft asymmetrical draping and a pearl sash.

Matron of honor was Megan Jones.

Bridesmaids were Beth Litvach, Amanda Knott, Thrisha Kennedy Erwi and Elizabeth Meredith Rhea, sister of the groom.

Flower girls were Emma Jones and Bella Jones.

Marc Kinney served as best man.

Groomsmen were Patrick Meredith, brother of the groom; Ben Hurst, brother of the bride; Jason Dubay; Andrew Hodge; Matt Pattillo and John Coulter.

Following a reception at the Johnson City Country Club, the couple took a wedding trip to St. Lucia.
