GREENEVILLE — Businesses in three Tennessee counties are eligible to seek relief from flooding in May as a result of Tropical Storm Alberto.

The U.S. Small Business Administration said in a news release that Cocke, Greene and Unicoi counties are eligible because they’re contiguous to one or more primary counties in North Carolina.

The agency said economic injury disaster loans are available to small businesses, small agricultural cooperatives, small businesses engaged in aquaculture and private nonprofit organizations in the three counties.

Applicants can apply online or get more information at (800) 659-2955, or (800) 877-8339 for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. The deadline is April 8.
