Posting a 3-0 victory, Boone won those sets 25-23, 25-16 and 25-19.
The ’Blazers dominated from the outset, jumping out to a quick 12-5 lead in the first set. Science Hill battled back though to take the lead late in the set 17-14. Boone was able to ultimately prevail, winning in a tight one 25-23.
The Lady 'Toppers came out in the second set with a sense of urgency and went up 4-0 early on Boone. Boone answered the bell with a back-breaking 16-4 run to ultimately put the Lady ’Toppers in the hole. The ’Blazers were able to take the commanding lead and win the second set, 25-16.
The real difference in the match was the depth of the bench for Daniel Boone. Science Hill only had three or four bench players that could rotate in and out while Boone had double that amount or more.
In the third set, the two teams were matching each other point for point, going to a 6-6 tie. Boone was able to eventually pull away — winning 25-19 — but Science Hill made things interesting by coming back to within three points at 22-19.
Kaitlyn Harville led Daniel Boone with 11 kills and had five digs. Whitney Sams had a great night with 21 digs while Brianna Birchfield of Boone had 15 digs.
For the Lady ’Toppers, Chloe Foster racked up 19 assists and Abby Stout nine kills. Meghan Carroll contributed seven digs.
