There is also a high school meet run in conjunction with the collegiate one.
The men’s and women’s 5,000-meter run finals will take place on Friday night at the end of the college portion of the event.
Appalachian State has four of the top six entries in the 5K with all of them under 18:00 for the 3.1-mile race.
The men’s race to keep an eye on during the Friday running events will be the 800-meter run finals, which were switched to Friday this year.
The standout race in the early part of the day will feature the 3,000 meters. ETSU’s Adam Bradtmueller and Ben Varghese will be the local runners to keep an eye on as each had solid cross country seasons.
Perhaps the race of the day will be in the men’s mile. Matthew Warriner, a former Buccaneer, will headline the field and he is closely followed by current Buc Simeon Roberts. Both men will be looking to dip under the 4:10 barrier.
Former Milligan College national champion at 800 meters Hannah Segrave will be a name to watch in the women’s mile as she is seeded at 4:40 and will be competing under the flag of her home nation, Great Britain.
