Step back into the 1940s with Jonesborough Repertory Theatre’s radio station, WJRT, as the theatre presents the annual 1940s USO Christmas Show.

When the United States entered World War II, radio play a key role in boosting morale and providing entertainment for families at home, as well as for soldiers deployed overseas. The Repertory Theatre will “broadcast live radio skits” as well as sing and dance to patriotic and familiar Christmas tunes as they honor military families with a memorable Christmas celebration of America’s freedom.

The show will run from Dec. 5-15, with tickets costing $17, or $15 for students and seniors. For showtimes and tickets, call the Jonesborough Visitors Center at (423) 753-1010. There will be an interpreter for the deaf at the Saturday, Dec. 14 show at 7:30 p.m., but tickets need to be purchased by Nov. 23. For more information, visit www.jonesboroughtheatre.com.
