BRISTOL — It's into the woods and happily ever after as Theatre Bristol will hold auditions for the Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine musical “Into the Woods” on Aug. 3-5 and Aug. 10 at Theatre Bristol, 512 State St.

The award-winning Broadway musical will be on stage this fall for the holidays at the Paramount Center for the Arts, and Theatre Bristol is inviting the community to audition. Show details, audition times, character roles and rehearsal dates are available at www.theatrebristol.org/audition.

No preparation is required to audition, and roles are available for men, women and teens. Doors will open 30 minutes before the first audition on Aug. 3 at 10:30 a.m., Aug. 4 at 2:30 p.m., Aug. 5 at 6:30 p.m. and Aug. 10 at 10:30 p.m. The audition will consist of singing, reading and dancing. Musical pieces will be provided, but prepared material is welcome. Auditions will also include cold readings.

Anyone interested in being a part of the production crew may contact Theatre Bristol at [email protected], or be present at any of the audition times.

Directing “Into the Woods” will be Theatre Bristol veteran Glenn Patterson.

Winner of multiple Tony Awards when debuted and revived, and adapted for film by Walt Disney Pictures, “Into the Woods” features music and lyrics by Sondheim, book and original Broadway direction by Lapine, and with orchestrations by Jonathan Tunick. “Into the Woods” is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International. All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI.
