ELIZABETHTON — The Bonnie Kate Theater has come back to life in the past two years, providing its stage for plays, musical acts and public meetings. It has also become a classroom for the next generation of thespians.

The Youth Theater at the Bonnie Kate has begun a series of acting classes on Tuesdays for children age 6 and up. The classes include storytelling, acting, set and costume design and other important skills of acting.

The classes are conducted in eight-week sessions and run from 4-5:30 p.m. every Tuesday. There is a $50 registration fee.

The youth drama class is working on “Wild, Wild, Folk Tales.”

Meanwhile, middle and high school students are learning acting and singing skills as they work in the musical theater ensemble for the production of “Screen Test,” which will be performed on April 7 at 2:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets will be $5 each.
