For the Hilltoppers, it was a night of which they were finally able to see the fruits of their labor come to be.
“Both Nick and Ethan’s (DiSantis) chemistry was really good tonight,” Science Hill head coach David Strickland said. “We’ve had a rough start to the season with a lot of misfires around the goal. Tonight, it was nice to see all the boys having fun while they were playing. The ball moved really well and everybody was really positive moving forward.”
DiSantis also had two early goals for the ’Toppers in the first half, scoring in the 14th and 22nd minute. Cahoon’s second goal in the 25th minute was assisted by Carson Cox and it culminated in a beautiful header into the goal.
Science Hill had a 6-0 lead by halftime with 20 total shots and 10 of them were on-goal. Tennessee High had just two shots total all game, both coming in the first half.
The other Science Hill goals came from Jonathan Carillo, Hunter Turgeon and Ricardo Alberto.
“This is the stuff that we know we have,” Strickland said. “It’s just the timing of it coming to the surface. … These kids were absolutely ecstatic. It was more of a big sigh of relief. Hopefully, we pick it back up again on Friday and keep going.”
Science Hill will play against David Crockett on Friday.
