Tri-Cities TN/VA for Bernie Sanders will host the Labor Day BBQ for Bernie 2.0 this Monday, September 2, at Old Kiwanis Park in Johnson City.

The event will kick off at 11 a.m. with a basketball HORSE tournament with a $50 cash prize. Other tournaments include a singles Ladder Golf tournament, which will also have a $50 cash prize, at 2 p.m., and a doubles Cornhole tournament at 4 p.m. All tournaments are all-ages and free of charge. Sign-ups begin 30 minutes before tourneys start.

Lunch and dinner are both potluck affairs, with entree and drinks provided. Organizers will be serving all natural, locally sourced BBQ beef, pork, and chicken, as well as a vegan alternative for those who do not eat meat. Lunch will be served from noon until 2 p.m., and dinner will be served from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Nine hours of scheduled entertainment will begin at noon on the Kiwanis Park stage with local bluegrass hero Cory Jeter. Other musical acts to follow include, in order of appearance, Beatles for Bernie, Dr Richard Hood, Chuck Greene and Friends, Magus and the Movers, the Meanwhilers, Scotty Melton and Mark White, and the Rhythm Brewers.

All expenses are paid for by the local grassroots Bernie group, and not the national campaign.
