If the application is approved, the shelter can then set up an appointment to come meet or adopt. It’s actually working pretty well right now, according to shelter director Tammy Davis, who says they have been able to adopt out 10 dogs and 12 cats since closing their doors.
If you think you’d be a responsible pet owner, and you’d like the best company you could hope for during this time of crisis, you might want to check them out online!
When I asked Tammy to send photos of four animals who are really in need, she didn’t hesitate at all, and chose four who have been there a while, and deserve a new, loving home.
This week’s Pets of the Week:
• Ace is a wonderful boy who’s looking for a new home and family. He is a young adult Shepherd mix, and has a classic, handsome face that loves to smile. He is very sweet, very dog friendly, and very kid friendly —take him home!
• Aibreann is a seven-month-old, female domestic short hair who loves people and enjoys active play time. She is loving, outgoing, and enjoys time with other cats as well. She’d be a great addition to any home or situation.
• Rocket is a handsome, sweet, two-year-old boxer mix who is a little shy at first., but warms up nicely as he gets to know you. He has lived with cats before, and got along nicely, so that shouldn’t be a worry at all. He gets along well with some dogs, and likes to be the center of attention if given the opportunity —but don’t we all?
• Mr. Green is a favorite at the shelter, a four-year-old, male domestic short hair with a soft white coat with black spots. He is a complete love bug, and was loved by his previous owner, but was turned into the shelter after his owner began experiencing health issues. He needs another good home, and he’d make a great new cat at yours. Come see for yourself.
